Trello is a fantastic tool for managing your workload in one place. You can use it record your ideas and track those ideas through a process as they develop into real actions.

You can use it to plan out your week and split your days into blocks of time, for instance if you are using The Pomodoro Technique.

You can integrate it with other apps, such as Slack. We have it set up to send a notification to a channel in Slack when an item on a board in Trello is created or changed.

The beauty of Trello for me is that you can see so much information in on view and immediately understand what step in the process the items are at.

Here's an example board for you. You can drag the cards to the different columns once you action them.

You can share boards with other people in your team, you can add individual people to specific cards and you can use coloured labels to help even more with identifying the different items at a glance.

One of the other cool features about Trello is that it has a simple integration with email. In the settings for a board, you get a special email address which allows you to create Trello cards by sending an email with the title of the card in the subject, the body of the card in the body of the email etc. You can even add attachments to be added to the card.

It's free to join

You get most of the features of Trello with the free account, but there are some extra features like changing the background picture on your boards, but they aren't essential.

If you haven't created your first board yet, go to Trello and sign up for free now. Have a play around with it and start thinking how it can help you. You can use it on the web, and you can get the app for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire.
